Bangsa Malaysia ? No way !

Any concept similar to that of a Bangsa Malayan under the Malayan Union is unacceptable, and this includes the idea of a Malaysian Malaysia.

It is about everything being equal and this does not capture the hearts of Malaysians.

Therefore, regardless of whatever name is given, the concept is similar and this is against idea kenegaraan (the idea of nationhood) which we have inherited.

So, you can see that what Ghani is concerned is the fact that all men are equal; that's what he cannot accept. To him, all men cannot be equal and that this rule of law and justice cannot prevail in a Malaysian society and rejected by UMNO.

Yes , all men are equal, just that in Malaysia, some men are more equal than other men !!

Fiery Umno delegates to still speak but carefully

The three delegates to the Umno general assembly who went overboard are sorry that their speeches had caused concern among Malaysians.

Perlis delegate Datuk Hashim Suboh, Umno Youth delegate Datuk Azimi Daim and Malacca delegate Hasnoor Sidang Hussein were contrite over the furore that they had caused.
Hashim, taken to task for his infamous reference to a kris, said he had never thought that a small part of his speech would be blown out of proportion.

"I used the kris as a metaphor and not in its literal meaning."

The thick headed Hashim said those who did not understand the metaphors used, particularly members of opposition parties, should be given lessons on such literary devices. He thinks he is a big shot just because he explodes.

Cyber law and the bloggers

"Registering bloggers may be a “stricter” way to stop cyberspace writers from spreading disharmony and lies" said Deputy Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Kong Cho Ha.

Kong said: “We need to have stricter cyber laws to prevent these bloggers from disseminating disharmony, chaos, seditious material and lies.

“We are talking about creating cyber laws to control those who misuse the Internet,” he added.

Just days ago, Deputy Information Minister Datuk Zahid Hamidi said that “the mainstream media should play a role in deflecting wild allegations and slanders spread through the internet and blogs”.

Ahmad Zahid said the mainstream media should provide the correct explanation about allegations spread through the internet or blogs, especially if the allegations were targetted at the government and its policies.

Ahmad Zahid also advised bloggers to have ethics, self-respect and be responsible in their writings.

The Government must be mindful of the Bill of Guarantees when the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) was launched a decade ago that there would be no Internet censorship, and it must not renege on its solemn undertaking on “no internet censorship” which was given not only to Malaysians but the whole world – or nobody would ever believe in any undertaking or guarantee given by the Malaysian government.

UK's Tesco to take over Makro Cash and Carry stores in Malaysia - report

Tesco PLC of the UK is set to take over Makro Cash and Carry stores in Malaysia after successfully outbidding others for the retail chain, the New Straits Times newspaper reported.

The newspaper quoted unidentified sources as saying the eight stores belonging to Makro Cash and Carry Distribution (M) Sdn Bhd (Makro Malaysia) were put up for sale in September after Dutch firm SHV Holdings NV, which owns its 65 pct of Makro Malaysia, decided to call it a day here.

One source was quoted as saying: 'An announcement will be made next week.'

Makro Malaysia employees are expected to be notified next week, another source said.

It was not immediately known how much Tesco's bid was, but it was enough to beat stiff competition from other players here such as French hypermarket operator Carrefour SA.

It also beat other foreign retailers such as Wal-Mart Stores Inc of the US, Costco Wholesale Corp of the US and Metro Cash & Carry of Germany, the newspaper said.
