Torn between two ????

Dr Mahathir vows to keep on asking questions.

Ex-premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad today said that he had information about government corruption which if he revealed would land in jail. “I will continue asking for answers from the current government, because if I reveal information, I would be charged with revealing state secrets under the Official Secrets Acts,” said the former prime minister. Speaking to reporters in Putrajaya, he explained that his persistent queries about outstanding issues were due to a number of unanswered questions, adding that those involved in corrupt practices would never admit to it.

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has vowed to keep on raising questions “until I’m answered” and pledged to reveal evidence of wrongdoings, including corruption. The former premier said there were several other issues which he would raise, adding it would come out one at a time. When pressed to reveal more, Dr Mahathir said: “I am not willing to discuss the details of that as yet.” He said that no one who was corrupt would admit to receiving money and neither would the person who gave the money come forward to admit the act. “If you want evidence that way, you can never get evidence. There is an agency (the Anti-Corruption Agency) that investigates (corruption) and the agency should be allowed to investigate without any interference from politicians,” he told reporters. He had earlier delivered a keynote address entitled Positioning Malaysia in the World Arena organised by Perdana Leadership Foundation. Dr Mahathir said during his premiership, he had wanted some form of censorhip on the Internet with regard to pornography and violence, and that the present Government had the authority to introduce new laws covering the use of the Internet. Asked to comment that it was his criticisms that had caused the Government to review Internet laws, Dr Mahathir likened it to “using a hammer to kill a mosquito”.

Mahathir said a couple of days ago:
I appeal to the world to take this simple action. Reject the dollars and pounds. There will be economic turmoil for the whole world but this is a price we must be prepared to pay, it will be temporary. Because of American and British support for Israel's invasion of southern Lebanon, the former prime minister wants to punish the US and the UK. When he was the prime minister, he once said :
"The Europeans killed 6 million Jews out of 12 million, but today the Jews rule the world by proxy,", "They get others to fight and die for them.", "1.3 billion Muslims cannot be defeated by a few million Jews," but he suggested using political and economic tactics instead of violence."
But if the Jews really rule the world by proxy, then pnnishing Britain and America isn't be necessary.

Dr M: I will come out with evidence of corruption

PUTRAJAYA: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad yesterday upped the ante in his campaign against the Government — saying he would provide evidence of wrongdoing including corruption.
"There are several things which I will come out with, one at a time, evidence of corruption," he told a news conference after delivering a talk at the Perdana Leadership Foundation here. The former prime minister said he had evidence of corrupt practices of a minister who served in his Cabinet. "He was in my administration... I have some evidence but whether you can report to the police and expect proper investigation or not, is of course something else... I know the agency had investigated one person but there was no follow up. During my time, I thought that action was going to be taken, but no." He also noted that certain Umno division heads and supreme council members were involved in money politics. Dr Mahathir also said that he was still not satisfied with Abdullah’s rebuttal of the allegations raised by him. "All he said is he didn’t do this, he didn’t do that. My son didn’t do this, didn’t do that." Dr Mahathir said Abdullah did not answer questions on the sale of Proton-owned Agusta for one euro and the plan to sell sand to Singapore. Ministers and heads of government-linked companies have explained all the issues raised by the former PM. He took a swipe at the New Straits Times for saying in a report that his children were also involved in business when he was in power. Dr Mahathir said: "They can check how much money and how many tenders I have given to my children." During the TV interview on Monday, Abdullah defended his performance, denied suggestions his son Kamaluddin had benefited from their relationship or that his son-in-law Khairy Jamaluddin had a strong influence on his administration. Asked whether he would meet Abdullah to settle their differences, Dr Mahathir said: "The problem is that he should not have done these things. He can undo what he has done.’’ Over the past few months, Dr Mahathir had accused Abdullah of reversing his policies, compromising on national sovereignty and running a Government with "no guts". It’s unclear what Dr Mahathir wants undone by Abdullah.

Over the past few months, the former prime minister has attacked Abdullah, accused him of reversing his policies, compromising national sovereignty and running a government with "no guts". He defended his attacks, saying that he just wanted answers. But despite repeated explanation by various ministers, Dr Mahathir has continued to intensify his attacks on Abdullah. Yesterday, he denied that he was seeking a return to power. "This is not a power tussle, I’m talking about projects and policies. This is no tussle," he said. When asked whether he was making plans to meet Umno members: "No, I’m not planning anything. If people invite me ... if you ask me a question and I can answer, I will. If I cannot answer, I won’t."
“They say it’s not true that I cannot speak to UMNO members so I would like to have an UMNO gathering to speak to UMNO people.”

“If they allow me to speak then I speak, because they say they are not stopping me from speaking to UMNO members. So, okay, I’m going to organise an UMNO meeting.”

“So far they (UMNO) have stopped five groups from having anything to do with me. Those people have invited me to speak to them (but) they have been told ‘no’ - they (UMNO) cannot allow me to speak to them.”

“When I speak to the NGOs (non-governmental organisations), they complain there are PAS members there, so I must control people who came to hear me also. Newspapers now black out (my news), people who wrote in letters supporting me cannot get them published.”
"If Umno allows me to explain, I can go around and explain so that members will not be confused," he added.
