“total lies, fabrication and total garbage.”

“total lies, fabrication and total garbage.”

Datuk Seri Najib Razak has dismissed Raja Petra Kamarudin’s statutory declaration implicating his wife as having had a hand in the murder of Mongolian translator Altantuya Shaaribuu as “total lies, fabrication and total garbage.”

The Deputy Prime Minister said the allegations in the statutory declaration were a “desperate and pathetic attempt to discredit and taint my political image.”

Meanwhile, Khairy Jamaluddin said he had never received or kept any military intelligence report from anyone including the Prime Minister as alleged by blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin in his statutory declaration on June 18.

He said he had informed the police the same thing that he had not received any military intelligence report on the killing of Altantuya from the Prime Minister or anyone else.

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said yesterday he has been informed by the Attorney General's office that they will conduct an investigation into Raja Petra's declaration.

DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang urged Abdullah and Najib "to have new advisers after another round of savage but avoidable battering to their credibility with delayed denials".

He wrote in his blog today that if Abdullah and Najib had instantly responded to Raja Petra's "mind-boggling" allegations five days ago, "there would have been no need for me to invoke Standing Order 18 for an emergency debate of a matter of urgent, definite public importance”

By the way, a joke making its rounds is that “badawi” may soon be accepted as a neologism by Oxford Dictionary to mean “to start something full of promise but end in disappointment, failure and/or disaster”. So, an example of its usage would be “France badawied their Euro 2008 campaign.” :)
