Congratulations to SAPP

Congratulations and salutations for the firm bravery of SAPP and its two Members of Parliament for defending the rights of Malaysians, and especially those of Sabahans.

I have had two discussions previously with Dato' Yong Teck Lee, President of SAPP. The core issues at hand are those of good governance and dedication to the principles of accountability.

KeADILan's commitment to Sabahans, bumiputera and otherwise, include 20% oil royalties to Sabah, Sarawak and Terengganu, as well as proportionate and just represenation for Sabah and Sarawak.

I am happy with these early actions and call upon other friends to act quickly in order to guarantee stable politics and efficient economic management that will lead to dynamic growth and equitable distribution.

Sure, you must be happy, very very happy now, DSAI, you don't ?

Barisan Nasional supreme council today resolved not to take action against Sabah Progressive Party until it gets an "official statement" for its planned no-confidence vote against the prime minister - Malaysiakini.

At the meeting, all BN component party leaders were asked and subsequently agreed to ensure that all the BN Members of Parliament from their respective parties were present throughout the Parliament session and follow the instruction of the BN whip and reject any motion on the vote of `no confidence' against Abdullah.

All Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties (except one) strongly criticised the statement by Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) president Datuk Yong Teck Lee that the party had lost confidence in the leadership of the Prime Minister, describing it as lacking principles, unethical and going against the BN's spirit of consensus.

Meanwhile, Abdulah said the BN would not be issuing a "show cause" letter to Yong or SAPP "because they have not done anything wrong".

"This is not his party's stance," said Abdullah.

"The statement was made by Yong Teck Lee. That is why we're not taking action against the party."

"We cannot simply take action against any one party...We have to be correct...against any leader...or component party," Abdullah said.
