Tremor felt in BP ?

A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.3 shook Indonesia's Sumatra island on Tuesday and was felt in Singapore and Malaysia as well, causing the evacuation of several buildings over 400km away.

Yesterday, some offices in BP swayed slightly and evacuated.

When I got out from my office, my body was still shaking, a little bit dizzy. My heart was pounding, beating faster and faster, and it was getting harder to breathe and after that I felt nausea.

For the first time, I experienced a quake, and it was just a minor quake. lasting less than a minute.

I really pity the people in Indonesia, the world's largest archipelago, which is prone to seismic upheaval due to its location on the so-called Pacific "Ring of Fire," an arc of volcanos and fault lines encircling the Pacific Basin.

And the bad news continues in Indonesia :

Just less than 24 hours after the quakes, it was reported that a passenger jet burst into flames on landing in the central Indonesian city of Yogyakarta.

A Grauda flight from Jakarta, GA 200, apparently crashed and burst into flames when trying to land at the Jogjakarta airport this morning. There were 133 passengers on board. It was apaprently a Boeing 737-400. Metro TV is showing clips and live feeds of the plane’s wreckage. it was the first flight from jakarta to Jogjakarta, leaving at 6am. latest update here.
